Husqvarna 435 review: the short answer
The Husqvarna 435 is the best all-round homeowner saw in Husqvarna’s lineup: 40.9cc, a 16-inch bar, and under 10 lb. It handles storm cleanup, limbing and regular firewood on a bigger yard or small property.
This page also covers owners of the older 435e II.
Still comparing saws? My gas chainsaw buying guide sizes a saw by the trees you actually cut, not by how many acres you have.

Who it’s for, and who should skip it
Good fit: bigger yards and small acreage. Storm cleanup, limbing and firewood.
Skip it if: you fell big trees often. Get the Husqvarna 460 Rancher.
Why we like it
We’ve run Husqvarna saws ourselves. They’re sturdy, last a long time and are easy to maintain, especially on a bigger yard or a few acres. The 435 adds Smart Start, so it’s easy to pull, and it’s light enough to use all afternoon.
Husqvarna 435 owner’s FAQ

What is the fuel mix for the Husqvarna 435?
50:1 with 2-stroke oil.

The 435e II was an earlier version. The 435 is the current model, with the same 40.9cc size and chain type.
Husqvarna 435 or 440: which should I buy?
Same engine. The 435 comes with a 16-inch bar; the 440 has an 18-inch bar and a bit more power. Pick the 440 if you cut thicker logs.
Which Husqvarna should you buy?
- Husqvarna 120: small yard, light jobs, lowest price. See our Husqvarna 120 review.
- Husqvarna 435 (this saw): most homeowners; light, easy starting, 16-inch bar.
- Husqvarna 440: same engine as the 435 with an 18-inch bar for thicker logs. See our Husqvarna 440 review.
- Husqvarna 460 Rancher: big trees, land clearing and lots of firewood. See our Husqvarna 460 Rancher review.
